Quality Tool Set
These tools are needed for both LED Scope Part 1 & Part 2. Recommended for kits that require soldering.
(From center, then top, clock-wise)
25W Pencil-Tip soldering Iron
Provides just the right amount of heat for soldering electronic components. Wattages over 30 watts can damage the components and PC board. Wattages under 20 watts will not heat quickly enough and component damage may occur.
Cage-Type Soldering Iron Stand
Highly recommended to prevent burns to table tops, test leads and people.
Always protect you Eyes when working with tools!
Basic Digital Multi Meter with Test Leads
Measures DC/AC Voltage, Current, Resistance, test Diodes and Transistors
Long, Narrow Tweezers
For positioning small parts and prying under components
Vacuum-Pump to remove melted solder to aid in dismantling circuits
60/40 Tin/Lead Rosin Core Solder Wire (0.025” Dia.)
Low temperature lead-based solder flows freely and makes learning easier. Without experience, lead-free tin-only solders make poor solder joints and cause discouragement.
Universal Wire Strippers & Cutters
For removing insulation and cutting heavy gauge wire.
Removes solder from tiny spaces the way paper towel absorbs water.
Holding parts while soldering or un-soldering, bending & shaping component leads.
Fine, Flush Wire Cutters
Use to trim component leads after soldering. Cuts flush and in tight spaces. Used ONLY to cut fine copper wire and component leads!!
