The new circuit board enables the Hexbug to
- Make Sounds
- Detect Light
- Detect Battery Level
- Control the drive motor
- Receive IR control signals
- Detect obstacles
- In-Circuit Programming
Under new software control the Hexbug can now:
- Start, Stop, and Sleep
- Change its speed
- Turn itself on and off depending on light level
- Be controlled with a TV remote
- Sing
- Request new batteries
- Be given new personalities
Includes PC board, all parts including IR receiver module, low profile piezo speaker, and PIC12F675 pre-programmed with operational start-up test program and basic personality.
Note: A PICkit-2 Programming module and MPLAB software (or similar) will be required to reprogram the PIC chip. The new board is also compatible with the PIC12F685 for increased memory.
